At the Center unit, you'll become part of a dedicated team that together takes responsibility for some of the city's most important sports environments. You'll ensure that our sports grounds are always in top condition, whether it's maintaining artificial turf, preparing for events, or ensuring exemplary cleanliness. The Center unit consists of approximately twenty-five sports facility maintenance workers, three team leaders, and a unit manager. The unit is responsible for operating the Slottsskogen sports area, Heden, Skatås, and artificial and natural grass fields in central Gothenburg. The mix of artificial grass fields, grass fields, and track and field facilities makes the work varied. Our facilities host events such as Partille Cup, Gothia Cup, Göteborgsvarvet, track and field competitions including World Youth Championships and Gothenburg GP, concerts, and much more. Job Duties We are now hiring staff members to form a work team that will primarily take care of the Heden sports area, but who will also support other sports facilities within the Center unit. During 2026, an elite arena will be completed that supplements the existing fields at Heden. This also means we are expanding our presence and service on the grounds during evenings and weekends. The position involves shift work with varying hours between day, evening, and weekend shifts. Together we exchange knowledge and learn from each other. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work broadly with operation, maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of these facilities as well as the vehicles and machines used. The work also includes cleaning of locker rooms and restrooms. We would appreciate if you have a passion for community sports and athletics, as this will give you an extra dimension in understanding and meeting the needs of our visitors and sports clubs. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has previously worked with similar tasks as described above, has experience working with sports facilities (for example artificial grass and grass fields), and has relevant machinery experience for the position. A B driving license (manual transmission) is a requirement, and we consider it advantageous if you have a C and/or E driving license. It is also beneficial if you have training relevant to other tasks that the position encompasses. For this position, we place great importance on your personal competencies. As a person, you are driven and take initiative and ensure that work moves forward, whether you work alone or with others. Your ability to collaborate is therefore expected to be strong. The role requires that you are organized and orderly, for example by using your time efficiently and working systematically and carefully.
