Southeastern Jämtland Pastorate consists of 16 parishes in Berg, Östersund, Bräcke, and Ragunda municipalities. Our staff work where the present meets history; from the ski resort Klövsjö, the cross-country skiing heartland of Åsarna, the Torvalla district in Östersund, to the area where Vildhussen once created Döda fallet. We are now seeking an associate pastor for the Southern area with responsibility for the Åsarne and Rätan-Klövsjö parish. As an associate pastor with us, you will work in a rural area where the church remains a natural gathering place throughout all life's stages. Here your relationship with the congregation becomes personal – you follow families through generations. Work as a priest in the area is characterized by closeness; you meet parishioners at the store, on ski trails, on village roads, and in the parish hall. You will conduct services in churches that carry history in their walls, while also being given space to shape a living and relevant parish life for today. In our villages, commitment is strong. In Rätan–Klövsjö and Åsarna, you will enjoy quality of life and nature right at your doorstep. Mountains, forests, and lakes frame your everyday life and provide space for stillness and renewal that can strengthen both your own spiritual life and your meetings with others. Proximity to the mountains with slopes, ski trails, and snowmobile routes in winter, as well as hiking trails for peaceful walks, running, and cycling in summer, make it easy to live well alongside your calling. Here there is room for personal encounters, for conversations that take time, and for worship life where presence and participation are central. You will work in an area where people know each other, where the church means much to many, and where your presence makes a real difference. Your workplace will be in Hoverberg, where we have chosen to base our staff in the southern activity area. The position includes traditional pastoral duties with services, church rites, confirmation and youth activities, and it is a requirement that you are ordained in the Church of Sweden, have a B-level driver's license, and have access to your own vehicle. We actively work to develop three pilgrimage routes that pass through the parishes in our pastorate, of which Kårböleleden and Jämt-Norgevägen pass through our area. For those interested in pilgrimage, there are good opportunities to develop the pilgrimage vision in this pastoral position. We would like you to continue promoting and deepening our Sámi work and Sámi church life in our parishes. To succeed in this role, we see that you are confident in your self-image, your mission, and your faith/worldview. You understand, care for, and appreciate smaller contexts. We assume that you are curious about and willing to meet people in different life situations, that you are creative and take initiative, and that you are responsive to your colleagues. We are looking for someone who creates and maintains good relationships, who can organize and set boundaries both for yourself and in the organization. We also see that you are engaged in the confirmation team, which is a pastorate-wide working group. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Southeastern Jämtland Pastorate is relatively new, established in January 2022. With us, you will have the opportunity to build relationships and follow parishioners through life.
