We are now seeking a Machine Operator for our Energy Business Area Do you want to be part of the journey to create Sweden's most sustainable circular economy city? Are you interested in creating added value for our customers? As a Machine Operator with us, you will organizationally belong to the Energy Business Area (BA). Within BA Energy, production includes district heating, district cooling, electricity, and hydropower. BA Energy is one of our largest business areas within Borås Energi and operates several different production facilities, with the largest being the combined heat and power plant Ryaverket located in central Borås and our combined heat and power plant at Sobacken just outside Borås. In this position, you will become part of our fantastic Fuel & Ash team, which consists of 5 people, and your placement will be at the Sobacken facility. You will work in a two-person team where working hours and tasks vary by season. During the low season, we work day shifts. During the high season (approximately October-March), we run 2-shifts (day: 06-14, evening: 14-22) where weekend work may occur. As a machine operator, you have a central and very important role in the entire logistics process for good quality during the fuel season and for storage during off-season periods. Your Responsibilities You will work with receiving/directing and handling of biofuel arriving at the Sobacken facility. Operate a wheel loader to keep the terminal area clean and well-organized Stacking of wood piles, mixing, and feeding fuel into the tipping pit Machine maintenance and upkeep Assist various departments in adjacent areas at BEM with the wheel loader Coordination with the control room and Biometria Your Background and Personal Qualities You have a high school diploma, preferably from a facility or vehicle program. You preferably have experience as a machine operator or other relevant background in facility/vehicle work that the employer considers equivalent. We are looking for someone who is service-oriented combined with responsibility, performing your work with great precision and efficiency. You enjoy working independently where you can make your own decisions with good analytical ability. You have clear communication skills as the role involves contact with suppliers and colleagues both internally and externally. You have at least a Class B driver's license and a professional license for a wheel loader. You communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written, and also have good English language skills.
