Dedicated Music Teacher Needed at Mariaskolan (50-75%)

Mariaskolan is one of Sweden's oldest independent schools with a Christian profile and has been serving Malmö for 40 years. We currently have approximately 250 students in our primary school (grades F-9) and 100 children in our two preschools. The school's governing body, the Christian School Association in Malmö, is a non-profit organization, and the school is located in the Stadion area. Mariaskolan reflects the diversity of children and students in Malmö. Our goal is to shape secure and curious students with excellent academic results. Mariaskolan's Christian values permeate the activities of the preschool, after-school program, and school through conversations, activities, and projects. We strive to create a good work environment for both students and staff while maintaining a high pedagogical standard. Today, approximately 70 dedicated colleagues work in Mariaskolan's primary school, after-school program, and preschool, and we look forward to meeting you! We are looking for you—a qualified music teacher with certification to teach grades 1-9 and several years of teaching experience. As a music teacher, you will lead the design of music instruction for grades 1-9, which is primarily conducted in half-classes (75%), or alternatively across two grade levels (50%). You will plan, deliver, and evaluate music instruction according to the current curriculum (Lgr22) and the school's local subject plan. The position also includes mentorship for one class during the coming school year for grade 9. Together with another upper-grade teacher, you are responsible for supporting and communicating with the students and their guardians, including mentor periods and parent-teacher conferences, in collaboration with your teaching team and student support services. As a person, you are relationship-oriented and have a positive approach when interacting with both children and adults. You work independently, are flexible, and have the ability to see all students and consider their individual circumstances. You create a sense of security and trust with those around you. You are a strong classroom leader with clear communication, goals, and results. You possess qualities that include both structure and creativity. You can adapt and design your instruction to meet both the group's and individual students' needs. You are passionate about helping students both academically and in their personal development, and as a person, you are cheerful and positive when facing new challenges.
