We're looking for someone who wants to work with a social, active, and charming young adult who has autism and epilepsy. The care user is cheerful, enjoys walks, music, and other social activities. It's important to this person that you are engaged, bring yourself to the role, and act as a driving force in daily life.
The work is varied – some days are filled with play and laughter, while others involve preventing and managing frustration or challenging behaviors. During outings and other major activities, you'll always work in pairs, as the care user has dual assistance. You'll receive individualized training where you learn the care user's needs, routines, and working methods.
Your work tasks include support in all aspects of daily life, such as meals, personal hygiene, communication, and activities. You therefore need to be active and proactive, while also being empathetic, organized, and skilled at creating a sense of security. Humor, warmth, and the ability to adapt to different moods and environments are important qualities. The work should always contribute to strengthening the care user's independence and self-determination.
We'd love to see that you:
• Enjoy working in a pedagogical manner
• Like being active and coming up with things to do during your shifts
• Have the ability to stay calm in challenging situations
• Have experience with autism
• Have experience with epilepsy
Experience with personal assistance, low-arousal approach, and/or AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) is meriting but not required. The position involves shift work with day, evening, night, and weekend shifts. The position is full-time from June, but we'd love for you to start working already this spring. We're looking for both people who want to work more continuously. As a personal assistant at Prima Omsorg, mandatory training and guidance apply.
