About Us Svensk Naturvård AB is a consulting company specializing in nature conservation. We work on motorized manual and practical nature conservation projects, primarily in the public sector and almost exclusively in nature reserves or other protected natural areas. As a consultant with us, you'll be part of a wonderful and inclusive work team. Today, the team consists of five full-time employees. About the Position We are seeking an experienced staff member for a nature conservation assignment in a nature reserve outside Tierp. The work is performed on foot and by boat on islands in the Dalälven River and involves, among other things, felling spruce with chainsaws and clearing saws, as well as girdling trees to promote coarse oaks and deciduous forest. The terrain is partially difficult to navigate, so good physical condition and experience with fieldwork are important. The assignment is expected to run through the end of October with the possibility of extension. Work tasks include: Manual felling of spruce with chainsaws in a species-rich nature reserve Debarking of felled spruces to prevent spruce bark beetle attacks Girdling trees around cleared, coarse oaks to increase sunlight exposure Clearing of smaller spruces and brush Work in terrain partially accessible by boat, on islands and riverbanks Qualifications Requirements: Relevant education or experience in biology & nature conservation Trained in clearing and chainsaw work Residing near Tierp Ability to distinguish between different tree species even outside the growing season Enjoy working outdoors/in the field Good collaboration skills and a professional approach Speaker of Swedish Good physical fitness Merits: Chainsaw certificate level C Experience with nature conservation work in reserves or similar environments What We Offer: A pleasant work environment with engaged and helpful colleagues Participation in an exciting and meaningful nature conservation project Good opportunity for contract extension after the project employment Very valuable work experience that enriches your CV Collective agreement Send your application to [email protected] as soon as possible.
