We are seeking part-time firefighters for the Sorsele station Would you like to join our team and be part of providing important and valuable safety for the citizens of Sorsele Municipality? The Rescue Service in Sorsele Municipality consists of stations in Sorsele, Ammarnäs, and a rescue center in Gargnäs. In Sorsele, we have 5 personnel on standby distributed across 4 groups. In Ammarnäs, we have 2 personnel across four groups. The Gargnäs center includes 10 personnel. We serve approximately 2,500 municipal residents within our work area. The Rescue Service in Sorsele is part of a collaboration with 10 inland municipalities called RSR10. Job Responsibilities We are looking for someone who, alongside your regular employment, wants to make an important contribution to society. Being a part-time firefighter means you have primary employment with another employer and work as a firefighter on a part-time basis. With us, you will initially be part of a pool and step in during absences, and eventually participate in standby duty every fourth week. The role also includes participating in exercises and training programs organized by us, which are mainly scheduled in the evenings. Employment includes 2 weeks of basic training with compensation according to the agreement. This is followed by additional specialized training courses. You will receive a salary during all training you need to complete. These trainings can be local at the rescue service or through the MSB central training system to achieve the required competency. It is therefore important that your primary employer is informed of the need for additional training. Your Qualities The work can involve shifts with a fast pace and demanding physical effort, which is why we are looking for someone who is self-confident and a good team player. You have a positive attitude and value openness, respect, and responsibility. You are mentally strong, stable, resilient, humble, reliable, and in good physical condition. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Competence and Qualifications - Residence and workplace within response time limits (7 min) - Your primary employer must approve your employment as a part-time firefighter - Pass the physical requirements through testing and medical examination - Successfully complete an approved treadmill test (offered by the rescue service) - Swimming proficiency - Class B driver's license - Good knowledge of the Swedish language It is an advantage if you have some form of firefighting training, a Class C driver's license for heavy trucks, or previous experience working in a rescue service. Employment Terms Part-time. Permanent position, start date: Positions are filled on an ongoing basis. Salary Salary according to RIB agreement. Additional Information Those hired who do not have a Class C driver's license will be offered a fixed-term employment for 9 months during which they have the opportunity to obtain their Class C driver's license. The costs for the Class C driver's license are partially covered by the Rescue Service. Employment begins in the pool; after training and based on need, you will be placed in a group.
