Veterinary Assistant

We are hiring a veterinary assistant who wants to work in a professional team and gain unique experience working with wildlife and exotic animals. Your responsibilities will include: assisting veterinarians during animal examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures; preparing medications, instruments, and equipment for veterinary procedures; monitoring animals before and after veterinary procedures; ensuring cleanliness, disinfection, and proper organization of veterinary facilities, equipment, and instruments; preparing laboratory samples and ensuring their delivery for testing; performing preparation and record-keeping of veterinary documentation; participating in animal restraint, transport, and other veterinary work processes; participating in the admission, treatment, and rehabilitation of wildlife, including helping provide daily care for animals in rehabilitation; collaborating with other zoo specialists to ensure animal health and welfare. We expect: veterinary assistant qualification or relevant education; preferably previous work experience in veterinary medicine; high sense of responsibility, accuracy, and ability to organize your work; good collaboration and communication skills; willingness to learn and develop professional knowledge; good computer skills; good Latvian language proficiency.
