We are seeking a tool designer for a consulting assignment with our client in the defense industry in Linköping. This role is ideal for someone with experience in mechanical design who wants to work closely with production to develop industrialization solutions, tools, and workshop equipment. You will become part of the client's production engineering team and work on both new and ongoing projects, from early concept studies to finished products. About the Assignment In this role, you will develop and design tools and workshop equipment for production. The work is conducted in close collaboration with other functions and covers production within composite manufacturing, machining, adhesive bonding, and assembly, among others. Your responsibilities will include: - Improve and further develop existing tools as well as design new tools and associated ancillary equipment. - Participate in the development of working methods, procedures, and processes within and between relevant departments. - Review design documentation with focus on manufacturability and tool requirements. - Define tool kits and develop tool concepts. - Maintain dialogue with customers and suppliers during the quotation, development, and delivery phases. - Create, review, and approve 3D and 2D documentation. - Specify design documentation with form and positional tolerances. - Manage internal and external requirements related to tool kits and tool documentation. - Provide technical support to tool suppliers. Your Profile For this assignment, we are looking for someone who: - Has 3 years of experience in the relevant area on a full-time basis and deep/high competence in the field. - Has relevant experience in tool design and industrialization solutions. - Has experience with CATIA V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX). - Has experience creating and managing design documentation in 3D and 2D. - Has strong competence in form and positional tolerances. - Can work with tool concepts, tool kits, and associated requirements and documentation. - Has the ability to work cross-functionally and conduct technical discussions with internal functions, customers, and suppliers.
