Location: Alvesta
Employment: Permanent (start as soon as possible after agreement)
Are you a technician who loves to tinker, troubleshoot, and truly understand how things work? Do you want to work in a modern workshop with advanced machinery and a close-knit team?
Things are going well for Wirtgen and we need to expand our team of dedicated Workshop Technicians. We are therefore seeking a workshop technician for Wirtgen in Alvesta, where you will be an important part of our continued growth. We have sold many machines and now need to strengthen our workshop to meet demand, both in terms of service, repairs, and customizations of new machines. Here you will work close to colleagues in an environment where knowledge is shared, ideas are encouraged, and where you have the opportunity to develop over time.
Your responsibilities
As a workshop technician, you will primarily work on-site in our workshop in Alvesta, but there may also be some customer visits. You will work with a broad range of machinery in construction and road maintenance, with a focus on:
• Asphalt pavers from VÖGELE
• Milling machines from Wirtgen
• Rollers from HAMM
• Crushing and sorting equipment from KLEEMANN
In this role, you will not only replace components—you will troubleshoot, repair, and address problems at a deeper level.
You will, among other things:
• Troubleshoot, repair, and service machines in the workshop
• Perform customizations and upgrades of new machines
• Contribute to work with new machine models through documentation, photos, and technical materials
• Have contact with customers by phone regarding service matters
• Travel on short assignments to customers when needed
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology who enjoys working hands-on with others. You have:
• Experience working with vehicles, construction machinery, industrial equipment, or similar
• Good technical understanding in areas such as mechanics, electrical systems, or hydraulics
• Experience with troubleshooting and repair
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English
• B-class driving license
As a person, you are solution-oriented, thorough, and thrive in a role where you take responsibility. You are curious and appreciate understanding how things work, not just replacing parts.
What we offer
At Wirtgen, you get more than just a job—you become part of a team where technology, community, and development go hand in hand. You become part of the John Deere family, where Wirtgen manages the entire chain from development and manufacturing to sales and aftermarket support. This gives you access to deep technical expertise, short decision-making paths, and the right conditions in the form of support, spare parts, and a stable organization to grow within. We offer:
• A modern workshop in Alvesta with high technical standards
• A close-knit team with long experience (several colleagues have been here for many years)
• Opportunity to work on both repairs and developmental customizations
• Thorough introduction and continuous skills development
• A work day that includes shared breakfast with colleagues from both office and workshop
If you haven't previously had a female service manager, now is the time. Nea, service manager, says: "I lead a department where each individual's thoughts and ideas are valued and decisions can be made on-site with our customers. We adapt easily to change and want to improve and do better."
Other information
• Working hours: 07:00–16:00 (common workshop meeting each morning)
• Start: As soon as possible, by agreement
