Job Description As an in-house counsel with a data protection focus, you will provide legal advice to the authority's management and to other parts of the organization – primarily on matters relating to personal data processing. You will continuously provide legal support in change and development processes and will also contribute to legal governance within the authority. Your responsibilities include developing, revising, and monitoring internal governing documents in the data protection area. You will provide legal support in this field to other departments at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service headquarters and will participate in projects where legal expertise in data protection is needed. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for monitoring developments in the data protection field and analyzing how regulatory changes and new practices in this area affect the organization's operations. You will prepare and present the authority's consultation responses and develop proposed statements to, among others, the Swedish Data Protection Authority. Your work may also include preparing recommendations for legislative amendments to the Government. The position as in-house counsel with data protection focus is independent and varied. The work involves ongoing contact with, among others, the Government Offices, other authorities, and other parts of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. There are good opportunities for remote work of up to 60 percent depending on individual circumstances. Qualifications You are someone who works well with others by being attentive and communicative. We are looking for someone who has: Law degree Notary certification or other experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant Very strong ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish It is also meritorious to have: Education in the data protection field Education in public access to information and confidentiality Judge training Experience with qualified investigative work on data protection matters Experience with qualified legal work on data protection matters in the Government Offices Experience working as in-house counsel on data protection matters at another government authority or other relevant experience Experience working as a data protection officer Experience working with issues of public access and confidentiality Experience working with IT legal matters Experience working with AI law Experience working with digitalization Good knowledge of and understanding for digitalization and cybersecurity, including basic technical understanding (systems and data flows, cloud, identity/access) NOTE!
