Description
Are you a qualified and experienced attorney who wants to work with a focus on civil protection and cross-agency legal matters? Then you might be the person we are looking for.
The County Administrative Board is the highest civil total defense authority in the county and plays a key role in leading, coordinating, and developing civil defense. We need to strengthen our legal expertise for this work.
The position is located in the Administration and Legal Affairs Unit, which handles the agency's legal advice and case management, as well as registry and archive functions with associated tasks.
Responsibilities
A significant part of the duties involves serving as coordinator for civil protection and providing support to the rest of the agency on matters related to total defense.
As a chief legal counsel, you work closely with the chief legal officer and provide support to county management and other parts of the agency on cross-agency legal matters such as total defense, public law, security protection, and quality assurance of preparatory materials, consultations, agreements, and contracts. Case handling or decision-making is part of the position when needed, and during peak workloads especially concerning the Planning and Building Act, the Environmental Code, and the Act on Protection against Accidents.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
Law degree (Jur. kand. or equivalent)
completed court clerkship
multiple years of experience with qualified legal work in the public sector
multiple years of experience working with a consultative approach
good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English in both speech and writing
It is meritorious if you have:
Worked with legal total defense matters
Experience working at a county administrative board or other state agency
Leadership experience
As a person, you are clear, have integrity, and are confident in your decision-making. You are solution-oriented within the bounds of legal security, drive and follow up on goals and results, and have a professional and good demeanor. As a chief legal counsel, you need to be able to handle both long-term strategic issues in parallel with rapidly emerging matters. You are unpretentious, have good collaboration skills, and can inspire, motivate, and lead colleagues.
A central role for the County Administrative Board as an agency is to make trade-offs between different interests. You need to have good ability to make legal interest assessments and make decisions with consideration for multiple perspectives based on a holistic view and with a critical approach.
Our operations are also subject to change based on what happens in the world, which requires that our employees have the ability to prioritize and adapt to work with new tasks or in new contexts.
We place great importance on your personal qualities. There are good opportunities to take on greater responsibility and develop within the scope of the work area over time. You should have a driver's license (category B).
