Södertörn University is an institution of higher education in Stockholm that educates, conducts research, and collaborates for sustainable societal development. Here, 13,500 students study approximately 80 programs and over 300 courses. Education and research are conducted within the humanities, social sciences, educational science, police science, technology, and natural sciences. The Department of Police Work (IPA) currently has approximately 120 employees, most of whom are teachers with police expertise who are on loan from the Police Authority. At the department, we also collaborate with teachers and researchers from other departments at the university. Education should be based on scientific foundation and proven experience, which is why we continuously strive to increase teachers' and researchers' scientific competence. In addition to the police program, there is also the opportunity to study for a bachelor's degree in police work and criminology. In fall 2024, the collaboration project Sweden Against Organized Crime (SMOB) was launched at the department, an excellence initiative aimed at strengthening Sweden's capacity to combat organized crime, with a particular focus on criminal economy. We are now seeking a business development manager for the department. Main Responsibilities As a business development manager, you will lead collaboration projects between politics, business, and the public sector for sustainable solutions against crime develop and be responsible for innovation and business development within the crime prevention area provide management and knowledge support at both strategic and operational levels initiate, implement, and document innovation-related activities and projects that inspire and lead to increased utilization develop guidelines and processes for public-private partnerships (PPP) to prevent crime with a focus on criminal economy Other administrative tasks may be included in the work. Qualifications Higher education in a relevant area At least 5 years of experience in leadership within politics and business At least 5 years of experience with legislative work and policy development, particularly in criminal justice policy Experience leading and driving complex assignments Experience collaborating with multiple different parties and sectors, particularly with business and politics Experience building collaboration and networks between different actors, both within the public and private sectors Experience with competence development and strategic communication in areas concerning politics and business Experience leading projects with a focus on strengthening collaboration and developing long-term solutions for societal problems Very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in English Personal Qualities Collaboration Skills: Works well with other people. Relates to them in a responsive and flexible manner. Listens, communicates, and resolves conflicts constructively. Oral Communication: Speaks clearly, articulately, and engagedly in individual meetings and small and large groups. Listens and is receptive to the other party and adapts to the situation. Linguistic Analytical Ability: Understands complicated linguistic materials, both spoken and written. Produces high-quality documents. Holistic Perspective: Sees wholes and takes the larger perspective into account. Understands your role but acts in the best interest of the entire organization in decisions and actions.
