Culture Gävleborg is Region Gävleborg's department for regional cultural activities. We work with several different art and cultural areas: music, dance, art, film, crossmedia, libraries, literature, crafts, and world heritage. In close collaboration with actors within and outside the county, we implement the intentions of the regional culture plan and Region Gävleborg's library plan. Within regional library activities, we work to promote collaboration, business development, and quality at the county's public libraries. We are now looking for someone who wants to support the business development of public libraries in the field of democracy and accessibility. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS Culture Gävleborg's business development specialist for libraries works strategically and operatively to coordinate, plan, and implement projects, training initiatives, and network meetings, and contributes to learning, innovation, and development through, for example, financing, advice, and process management. As a business development specialist with a focus on democracy and accessibility, you will • support public libraries' work in promoting democracy with a focus on crisis preparedness, digitalization, and the public library's role as a public space and meeting place • support public libraries' work in promoting equitable access to literature, information, and knowledge with a focus on adapted media and library resources for priority groups according to library law • work strategically to promote public libraries' efforts for increased media and information literacy and universal access to media through various forms of collaboration with professional actors, institutions, municipalities, and civil society in the county • participate in working groups and networks at regional and national levels and initiate and develop contacts and collaborations • perform administrative tasks relating to, among other things, assignments, activity monitoring, filing, invoice management, and communication work. You have current knowledge and experience of working at public libraries and can see connections, analyze learning needs, and plan, carry out, and follow up on initiatives and activities. You have a good ability to listen to others' perspectives and build trust, and you are an organized administrator. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. In the role of business development specialist you should have • a university degree in library and information science or other academic education that the employer considers equivalent • work experience from public libraries where we would like to see that you have previously worked with tasks related to democracy, accessibility, adapted media, and customer service and support for different target groups • experience working to develop learning and competence in libraries • knowledge and experience of administrative work, for example writing project applications and reports • experience with and understanding of work within politically governed organizations • good ability to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish and English.
