Do you want to lead technical vehicle projects and strengthen VR Sweden's delivery under the Pågatåg agreement for Skånetrafiken?
As a Vehicle Operations Developer at VR Pågatågen in Raus, Helsingborg, you will have a central specialist role where you lead technical projects, analyze recurring faults, and develop working methods that enhance quality in daily operations. You collaborate with colleagues and maintenance providers in a modern organization with high expertise and great commitment.
Your Employment Offer
At VR Sweden, you will have a broad and independent role in a stable and socially critical operation where your work impacts operations, quality, and vehicle fleet development. You will be part of a small team with close collaboration, short decision-making paths, and a manager who gives responsibility and trust.
Your Tasks
As Vehicle Operations Developer, you drive improvement work and projects that develop the vehicle fleet with a focus on structure, quality, and long-term sustainability.
You will, among other things:
Lead, coordinate, and participate in technical vehicle projects.
Maintain contact with clients and maintenance providers on technical matters.
Develop working methods, procedures, and instructions for vehicles and operations.
Identify faults, deviations, and improvement areas within the vehicle fleet.
Ensure that documentation is up to date and that changes are communicated and implemented in operations.
Worth Knowing
Your workplace is located in Raus, just south of Helsingborg, where the maintenance depot is also situated. The role requires on-site presence most of the time and you report to the Vehicle and Maintenance Manager. You will be part of a small team where collaboration, flexibility, and approachability are important. You will also have many contact points internally and externally, including with maintenance providers.
Our Expectations
We are looking for someone with solid understanding of train operations and a genuine interest in technology, operations, and improvement work. Ideally, you have a background as a locomotive driver and experience working close to daily train operations. Project management experience is a merit, especially in technical or complex operations where multiple parties need to be coordinated. You need good administrative skills, the ability to express yourself clearly in speech and writing, and be comfortable working fact-based.
You have good IT skills and are a proficient user of MS Office. Experience with maintenance systems, such as Maximo, Ford, or similar, is a merit. You communicate fluently in Swedish and also have good English skills.
As a person, you are organized, curious, and solution-oriented. You like to understand why problems occur and want to find sustainable solutions within existing regulatory frameworks. You are unpretentious, safety-conscious, and a team player who enjoys contributing where needed. To thrive in this role, you need to be motivated by problem-solving, technical development, and the opportunity to contribute to a safe and well-functioning train operation.
