Description of the Workplace In the role of business economist, you will become part of the municipality's finance unit, which consists of 12 employees. You will mainly work with the municipal board and the Governance and Support sector, which leads and coordinates the municipality's operations, works closely with political decisions, and provides specialist expertise and services to both citizens and colleagues. Approximately 90 employees work here in areas including HR, finance, communications, business development, tourism, urban planning, and security. The finance unit has its office in the Administration Building, centrally located in Söderhamn. Your Assignment As a business economist for the municipal board, you are responsible for driving and developing financial planning and monitoring within your area of operation. You monitor and analyze the operations' finances and provide support and advice on financial matters to managers and operations. The role also includes ensuring the quality of financial processes, compiling the municipal board's annual accounts, and identifying and driving improvements in financial processes and working methods. You will also work with the municipality's overall budget framework and develop and coordinate the budget process. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with higher education or university education in economics or another education that the employer deems equivalent, as well as several years of work experience in the financial field. You enjoy working with numbers and have the ability to create understanding of financial relationships through excellent communication and collaboration skills. We require that you have good IT skills, a strong interest in developing and improving processes, and that you communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
