About the Department The Knowledge Department is responsible for the Swedish Work Environment Authority's knowledge mission, with operations in statistics, strategic work environment analysis, research and development, communication, and work environment guidance. You will be part of the department's staff and have a central role with close collaboration with the department head, managers, and leadership group. You will also be part of the authority's controller function and collaborate with other functions within the agency. The department is new and work methods and processes are under development. Therefore, you have the opportunity to help shape how we work with governance, monitoring, and analysis. To do this, you need to be able to see the big picture, view the department's operations from an authority-wide perspective, and contribute to solutions that support the agency's overall mission and goals. Your New Role As an operations controller, you contribute to ensuring that managers and leadership have a comprehensive and current view of operations, finances, and results. You develop analyses and decision-making materials, identify risks and needs, and provide support for prioritization and decision-making. Financial management is a central part of your assignment. You work with budgeting, forecasting, staffing, resource allocation, and financial monitoring. You analyze deviations and consequences and help connect finances and resource use with the department's mission, priorities, and results. You also work with operational planning, governance, and monitoring. The operations are complex and results and impacts cannot always be captured through quantitative measures. Therefore, you need to be able to combine different perspectives and analyze complex relationships. An important question going forward is impact monitoring. Together with others, you will have an important role in developing how we identify, monitor, and analyze the impacts that operations should contribute to in society, including through increased knowledge. Travel and overnight stays for work purposes occur. Your Background The role requires that you have: An academic degree in economics or an academic education that the employer deems relevant. Several years of current experience working as an operations controller or controller within government operations. Several years of experience in government operational and financial management, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, and management support. Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. Good digital competence and experience using digital tools for analysis and monitoring, particularly Excel. It is advantageous if you have experience with: A leading or driving role in operational development and change management work. Work with operational logic and impact monitoring. Project economics within government operations with external stakeholders. Furthermore, you have open communication and a solution-oriented approach, and are comfortable acting in situations where everything cannot be planned in advance.
