About the Position
As an operations controller, you play an important role in the municipality's comprehensive follow-up work. You coordinate processes around interim reports and annual reports, take responsibility for documentation and scheduling, and ensure that materials meet high quality standards and are delivered on time. In this specific role, you will maintain contact with our printing company that produces the printed annual report. Beyond that, you work with case management, preparation of decision-making materials, and development of work methods, templates, and support materials. You are responsible for preparing and handling service matters within your area of responsibility, for example related to internal controls where you plan and follow up. You may also present reports to the municipal board. We work in teams, and you will have both your own areas of responsibility and tasks you share with your closest colleagues.
Examples of Work Tasks:
provide support in both operations and financial management
serve as document coordinator in the follow-up process, establish timelines and coordinate writers
read, analyze and process texts and materials, and ensure content meets current recommendations in the field
handle and administer cases in the case management system
develop and coordinate timelines, annual schedules, calendars, follow-up templates and documentation
maintain and quality assure models and materials, such as statistics, and quality assure data and materials
About the Workplace
Örebro Municipality's large Finance Department provides support in financial and operations management as well as accounting. We are divided into four units with a total of approximately 75 employees. The long-term goal is to digitalize, automate, and standardize work throughout the entire financial process to free up additional time to proactively support managers with analysis, management and decision support.
The Corporate Finance unit consists of seven colleagues with controller or strategy functions plus a finance director. Your closest colleagues include strategists, financial controllers, and operations controllers. We are based at City Hall and offer the opportunity to perform some work remotely as well as on the basis of annual working hours where you manage your own working time based on operational needs.

Qualifications
To succeed in the role of operations controller, you need the ability to see the organization as a whole and think from a broader perspective. You see opportunities for improvement and take initiative when needed. You have the ability to set up timelines and structure work, both for yourself and others. You communicate in a responsive and flexible manner and have mastery of the Swedish language so that you can communicate clearly both in writing and in oral presentations to groups.

Requirements:
academic degree of at least 180 credits with a focus on economics, statistics, political science, or similar
extensive experience working as an economist or controller
Meritorious:
experience presenting to municipal boards or management groups
experience with financial work in public sector operations
experience working in case management systems (for example W3D3 or similar)
experience with the financial system Raindance
experience with Power BI
