Your Responsibilities
We are now seeking two operations managers, one for Vallastaden Care Home and one for the new facility Skarpan.
As an operations manager at a care home, you will lead and develop the operation within three areas of responsibility: operations, staff management, and finances. The assignment involves shared leadership. We offer you exciting work where, together with colleagues and staff members, you have great opportunities to influence and develop the operation. Your role includes leading and developing the operation regarding quality, working methods, and customer service, based on our vision, core values, political decisions, and applicable governing documents.
The operations manager coordinates a multiprofessional work team to ensure the highest possible care quality. The team includes, in addition to the manager, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, specialist nurses, nursing assistants, and care aides. You will also be part of a local management group for Vallastaden/Skarpan. Support for the operation includes resources in operational development, HR, and finances. You will also be part of a management group and network with other operations managers within the Care and Services Administration.
Linköping Municipality applies management assignments, which means the position is a permanent employment within the base profession with a time-limited management assignment.
Your Workplace
We have approximately 1,200 permanent staff members and a large number of temporary staff within the elderly care sector. We are the municipal alternative that operates without profit interest, with great openness and opportunity for public transparency. We have a long tradition and experience in elderly care. We work based on IBIC, the Individual's Needs at the Center.
Elderly care is organized into two departments: Open Care Forms and Care Homes.
Open Care Forms consist of home care, service housing/safe housing, home healthcare, rehabilitation at home, day activities, and means-tested safe housing, operated cohesively in geographical areas.
Care Homes are operated cohesively in geographical areas according to their specific focus. Work is conducted through multifunctional teams with dementia expertise and specialized expertise. The Health and Medical Care organization works specifically toward the care homes. The operation uses welfare technology, with a focus on quality of life for our residents and a healthy, stimulating work environment for you.
Vallastaden Care Home is a residential facility for people with dementia. The building has a total of 60 places distributed across three floors and two operations managers, where you are responsible for 30 of the places. There is also a spa and a light therapy room. Our residents have access to a nice outdoor environment including an orangery that can be used year-round. In our courtyard, there is a pleasant forest environment with a walking trail where you can practice balance training at various stations located around the trail.
Skarpan Care Home opens in February 2027 with a total of 90 places focused on dementia and somatic care. As one of three operations managers, you are responsible for 30 places in a modern environment equipped with a spa, gym, and light therapy room. Adjacent to the facility is an integrated preschool with which we will collaborate closely around holidays and traditions, creating natural, joyful meetings between the children and our residents.
About You
We are seeking you with a university degree as a nurse, social worker, in personnel and labor sciences, behavioral sciences, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You need to have experience in care and services work as well as previous experience in management and leadership. It is meritorious if your management experience is within care and services. It is a requirement that you have good knowledge of laws and regulations within healthcare and elderly care. We consider it meritorious if you have experience with operational responsibility according to HSL and you may have knowledge in dementia. For the position at Skarpan, it is meritorious if you have experience with development work and startup of care homes. Since the position involves contact with customers, service users, and their relatives, you have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.

Since this is a new facility, you need to be development-oriented and see the opportunity to create a good home for both residents, staff members, and leaders. You work methodically with complex issues and make correct assessments and prioritizations in your work.
