The Cultural Office in Strängnäs municipality works to create a rich, accessible, and inclusive cultural and leisure life for the municipality's residents. The mission includes libraries, cultural school, youth center activities, programming and exhibition services, municipal meeting places, and public art. Children and young people are a particularly prioritized target group. Through youth centers, Team Youth, SSPF, libraries, and cultural school, we meet children and young people in different parts of their daily lives. We are now creating a new role as Operations Manager within the Cultural Office. This is a strategically important position for you who want to lead through others, develop operations, and create even better conditions for cohesive promotion and prevention work for children and young people. 1 position(s). DUTIES As Operations Manager, you have overall responsibility for leading, coordinating, and developing the operational area. You are the manager for the managers within the cultural school, youth center activities, and libraries. You are also responsible for staff and functions within SSPF and Team Youth's field operations. An important part of the assignment is to create good conditions for the operations to succeed with their mandates. You lead development work, see the big picture, and create structures for collaboration both within the Cultural Office and together with other operations in the municipality. By bringing together expertise, working methods, and approaches, you contribute to the municipality's resources being used in a cohesive and efficient manner. The role has a clear focus on promotion and prevention work for children and young people. You need to be able to translate changes in the external environment and, for example, the direction of the new social services act in developing the operation's working methods and collaboration. You will have many points of contact and work closely with social services, schools, police, other authorities, civil society, and the municipality's other operations. Local knowledge and established relationships are therefore important parts of the assignment. As Operations Manager, you also work closely with the political organization. You prepare and quality-assure materials, report to the board, participate in board meetings, and serve as qualified professional support in matters within your area of responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are/have: • post-secondary education relevant to the role. We would like the education to have a connection to children and young people or another area that the employer deems relevant for the position • at least five years of current management experience • at least five years of current experience as a manager of managers or other management functions; it is meritorious if your experience comes from municipal operations • many years of experience in operations development and leading change and development work • very good knowledge of the target group children and young people as well as promotion and prevention approaches • very good knowledge within SSPF • good knowledge of methods for relationship and security-building work • experience collaborating with authorities, civil society, and various operations within a municipality • experience working in a politically governed organization • experience providing professional support to a political board • good local anchorage and an established network within the municipality • good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing • good skills in using IT as a support in work. It is strongly meritorious if you have experience from operations within the culture and leisure sector. To succeed in the role, you need to be a confident and experienced leader who can combine a strategic overall perspective with an understanding of the operations' daily reality. You create clarity and direction while giving managers and employees the conditions to take responsibility and develop their operations. You find it easy to build trusting relationships and see collaboration as a natural part of work. You can bring together different perspectives and create common direction even when many operations and actors are involved. With a long-term perspective and a clear focus on children and young people, you drive development forward and contribute to creating sustainable structures for the municipality's promotion and prevention work.
