The Property operations area consists of a management office and two units: the Operations and Management Unit and the Property Unit. The operations area has 40 employees. About the position As Operations Manager for the Property operations area, you are responsible for the strategic development and long-term planning of the municipality's property portfolio. You report directly to the sector manager and are part of the sector management team, where you contribute to the entire sector's development. You have overall responsibility for operations, finances, personnel, and work environment for the operations area. You lead, plan, follow up on, and develop operations based on politically decided goals and the municipality's overarching strategies. Your assignment includes driving and developing strategic issues within property management, facility provision, investments, and project development. Together with the operations team, you ensure that the municipality's facilities are sustainable, cost-effective, and adapted to today's and future needs. The role involves many contact points and close collaboration with political leadership, sector management, the municipality's operations, contractors, and other external stakeholders. You build strong relationships, lead change, and foster a culture characterized by collaboration, engagement, and development. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We seek someone with relevant higher education or university degree in, for example, property management, built environment, or another field that the employer considers equivalent. You have several years of experience in management and leadership with responsibility for operations, finances, and employees. You have strong experience with strategic work in the property sector and a good understanding of how property management, facility provision, and investments contribute to the municipality's long-term development. To succeed in this role, you need strong knowledge of built environment issues, property economics, and management of complex operations. You have experience working in a politically governed organization. You are experienced in leading change and have the ability to translate political goals and strategic decisions into concrete results. Through developmental leadership, you create engagement, participation, and good conditions for employees and managers to develop and succeed in their assignments. As a person, you are confident, communicative, and relationship-oriented. You have a strategic holistic perspective while being able to translate visions and goals into practical action. You are skilled at creating and maintaining strong collaborations and value cooperation with employees, union representatives, colleagues, residents, and political leadership.
