Job Responsibilities You will hold an important position where you represent the interests of elderly care in the Social Services Department's management team and are given the opportunity to influence, develop, and create favorable conditions for operations, its managers, and staff. You will represent the units in the Social Services Committee. You will be an important ambassador for elderly care and a central link between strategic decisions and operational activities. Together with the Operations Managers of elderly care units, you will work to ensure service quality, legal compliance, and long-term development. As Operations Director, you report directly to the Head of Social Services and are part of the Social Services Department's management team. You will lead approximately ten Operations Managers and have overall responsibility for elderly care operations. The role involves work at both strategic and operational levels where you are responsible for leadership, coordination, and development of the operational area. You work with a focus on quality, legal compliance, good working conditions, and long-term financial sustainability while providing support to the department's managers in complex issues and challenges. The assignment includes, among other things: Leading, supporting, and developing the Operations Managers of elderly care units and creating favorable conditions for their work environment and continued development. Ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, political goals, and established quality requirements. Providing qualified support on matters related to the Social Services Act (SoL), health and medical care legislation, and complex cases. Ensuring that elderly care operations maintain good quality throughout the municipality. Responsibility for budget, financial monitoring, and resource planning within the entire elderly care division. Driving development and change initiatives to meet future needs in elderly care. Representing operations in political contexts and contributing documentation to committees and subcommittees. Ensuring good cooperation between elderly care, other operations within the Social Services Department, and other departments and external stakeholders. Contributing to the Social Services Department's strategic development as a member of the management team. Qualifications We are looking for an experienced leader with the ability to combine strategic thinking with operational leadership. You have a good understanding of public sector operations and experience leading complex organizations where quality, finances, and development go hand in hand. For this position, you must have: Relevant academic degree in, for example, social work, care and elder care, health and medical care, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Multiple years of experience in management or leadership roles. Experience with budget responsibility and financial management. Experience working in elderly care, care services, or related operational areas. Good knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Health and Medical Care Act (HSL). Category B driver's license. It is meritorious if you: Have experience working in municipal operations. Have experience from a similar operations director role. Have experience with change and development work in elderly care.
