Each operational area has an operations manager reporting to the technical director. We are now seeking an operations manager with focus on Water/Wastewater and Streets/Roads. Job Duties As operations manager, you will have budget responsibility for your operations. You will also be responsible for procurement, project planning, work supervision, customer relations, planning and follow-up, occupational health and safety work, and administration of external contractors' assignments with support from the technical director. You will also assist in the field alongside your team members. Although the work is largely independent and self-directed, we work as a team. We are looking for someone with the ability to prioritize and drive processes forward and make decisions independently. You are a natural leader who enjoys motivating others. Qualifications You have a technical education at upper secondary level or higher, or you have acquired equivalent knowledge through several years of equivalent work experience. A valid Class B driver's license is required. It is an advantage if you have engineering education with a focus on streets and roads or water/wastewater systems. You have good computer skills and feel comfortable with financial matters and accounting systems. Experience working in a politically governed organization is also an advantage. Since we use geographic information systems (GIS) in our operations, knowledge of CAD and GIS is an additional advantage. Your personal qualities are important for this role, as the work involves many contacts with both contractors and municipal residents. As we are a small team, you need to be someone who enjoys collaboration and contributes to a good work environment, while also being self-motivated and taking responsibility for your tasks. We would appreciate it if you are solution-oriented, engaged, and have a desire to develop and learn more in your work. Other Information A trial period may be applicable.
