About Us Women's Crisis Center in Sundbyberg is a non-profit organization working against intimate partner violence. We provide support to women and children affected by violence, educate and disseminate knowledge about violence, and advocate to the municipality and society. We are politically and religiously independent and operate from a feminist foundation. Our operations are run by a volunteer board, approximately thirty engaged volunteers, and one employee. We are affiliated with the umbrella organization Unizon and have a service agreement with Sundbyberg Municipality. The organization is in a development phase where this role has the opportunity to help further develop our activities. Support services include individual support counseling, support groups, and an open helpline where volunteers assist those seeking support under the supervision of the Operations Manager. The Role You have the opportunity to make a difference—your work helps us support more women and spread knowledge about intimate partner violence. As Operations Manager, you are the organization's only employee and the hub of daily operations. The role involves coordinating and developing the center's activities, providing support to women affected by violence, and disseminating knowledge about violence and our work. You are responsible for support services, lead and coordinate volunteers, and represent the center externally. You also continuously prepare materials for board meetings and annual meetings, plan the operational year together with the board, and collaborate with other actors in the field. You work independently with a volunteer board as your direct supervisor and report regularly to a designated board member with employer responsibility. The role combines strategic leadership with operational responsibility and offers significant opportunities to influence the organization's development. Your main areas of responsibility: • Conduct and manage individual support counseling and ongoing support contacts. • Plan and lead support groups in collaboration with additional support functions. • Recruit, train, supervise, and coordinate the center's volunteers. • Collaborate with municipalities, authorities, and external partners. • Project manage communications work with support from volunteers working specifically on communications. • Deliver external lectures and represent the center in relevant networks and meetings. • Prepare materials for board meetings, activity plans, and grant applications. • Develop operations and improve work methods and processes. • Actively work to reach more women in need of support. Who We're Looking For First and foremost, we're looking for someone who is engaged and interested in the role we play in society, willing to take responsibility for and help develop our operations. We're seeking someone with a clinical background who is experienced in leading others in an environment where you must be able to drive the work independently without a daily present supervisor. Commitment to the cause is essential. You thrive with the freedom to shape your own work and see independence as an asset rather than a challenge. You are a confident and social person who enjoys collaborating with many different contact points. You are also comfortable handling difficult conversations in a professional manner. This role involves goal-based working hours with some evening work and occasional weekend work. You are expected to be present at the center's location in Sundbyberg as needed, but there is also some opportunity for remote work. You have: • Education as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or equivalent experience in social work. • Experience with support counseling for women affected by violence, both individually and in groups. • Experience leading volunteers or other groups without formal authority. • Ability to structure your own work and drive it forward. • Fluent Swedish in speech and writing. • Identify as a woman, as the role involves close contact with women in vulnerable situations. We highly value: • Experience working with a volunteer board and understanding what it means to have a broad mandate with a volunteer board as your immediate supervisor. • Unpretentious and responsible approach with a drive to develop and improve operations. • Ability to clearly communicate to the board when conditions are lacking or need to change, in a constructive and solution-oriented manner. • Calm, trustworthy, and confidence-building demeanor. • Both strategic overview and operational capability. Meritorious: • Experience from women's, girls', or youth crisis centers. • Knowledge of Alla Kvinnors Hus conversation methodology. • Advanced knowledge in gender, intersectionality, or norm criticism. • Experience delivering training, lectures, and/or workshops. • Language skills beyond Swedish and English. • Project management skills.
