The Ministry of Economics announces a competition for the position of Senior Specialist in the Financial Planning and Strategy Division of the Strategic and Financial Management Department.
We invite you to join the Financial Planning and Strategy Division of the Strategic and Financial Management Department as a Senior Specialist to work on strategic planning and budgeting matters.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure the division's task completion in policy planning and monitoring processes;
- Prepare information and draft legal acts and other documents within the division's competence;
- In cooperation with responsible employees of the ministry's structural units, prepare a draft ministry activity strategy and a draft public report on the ministry's achievements;
- Provide recommendations for the development of subordinate institutions' strategies and work plans, ensure monitoring of their implementation, and propose necessary improvements;
- Prepare analyses of the ministry's budget execution, conduct evaluation of performance indicators and consolidate execution reports, in accordance with the ministry's budget sub-programs and other relevant policy planning documents;
- Carry out activities related to state basic budget sub-program administration;
- Provide opinions on legal acts developed by other state institutions within the department's area of competence.
Requirements for candidates:
- Higher academic or second-level professional education in economics, management sciences, finance, law, or other social sciences;
- Compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law;
- Excellent Latvian language skills and good English language skills (work with documents in English);
- Knowledge in finance, economics, and strategic planning;
- Good communication and cooperation skills;
- Ability to work with large volumes of information;
- Knowledge of business information technology (MS Office).
