Malta Union Administration announces a vacancy for a senior chef at Silmala Early Childhood Education Institution and invites applications for a full-time senior chef position at Silmala Early Childhood Education Institution for an indefinite period.
Requirements for candidates:
- State language proficiency at least at intermediate level, degree 2 (B2);
- Professional secondary education or vocational education in catering services is required;
- Valid electronic signature (eID or eParaksts mobile).
- Previous experience in a similar position is desirable;
- Computer skills – email usage, ability to use electronic accounting systems, ability to use office equipment;
- Good communication and cooperation skills;
- Sense of responsibility and accuracy;
- Compliance with work discipline and work schedule, making maximum use of time to perform assigned work;
- Ability to make decisions and show initiative;

Main duties:
- Plan and organize kitchen work, lead the early childhood education institution's kitchen team, assess the quality of food products, perform their initial processing;
- Perform thermal processing of food products (boiling, frying, steaming, sautéing, etc.), prepare cold dishes (sandwiches, salads), prepare and present dishes in compliance with portion size, presentation, and serving regulations;
- Prepare dishes, perform cleaning, washing and disinfection of equipment, appliances and tools, clean the workplace and premises;
- Compile food technology cards;
- Compile menus for all scheduled meals during the day, taking into account energy value (kcal) and nutritional value, entering data in the "Visvaris" program, GVEDIS module "Nutrition";
- Work with catering equipment, following hygiene and occupational safety regulations and taking responsibility for the quality of work;
- Cooperate with structural unit staff in planning food product procurement issues.
Base salary: 900.00 EUR.
