The Ministry of Health announces an open competition for a vacant civil service position: Senior Expert at the Pharmacy Department (permanent) Position Purpose: Implement policy planning within the competence of the Pharmacy Department and ensure the development of draft regulatory acts and policy documents in the pharmaceutical field. In your work, you will: - Develop draft regulatory acts and policy planning documents in the pharmaceutical field, ensuring submission to the Cabinet of Ministers or other competent institutions; - Analyze the situation in the country regarding the pharmaceutical field and provide recommendations to the department director on the situation's development; - Ensure the preparation of orders and other legal documents on matters within the department's competence, including reviewing submissions and complaints and preparing draft responses; - Provide opinions on regulatory acts and policy planning documents developed by other institutions on matters within the department's competence; - Represent the department's position in the development of documents, projects, or programs related to the sector by other institutions or organizations as delegated by the department director; - Represent Latvia's position in international organizations, working groups, and foreign institutions related to the pharmaceutical field as delegated by the department director and ministry leadership. We expect from you: - Compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law; - Higher education in law, international relations, pharmacy, or medicine; - Practical work experience in state administration of at least 2 years; - Experience in developing regulatory acts and policy planning documents; - Knowledge of the pharmaceutical field; - Knowledge and understanding of the policy planning system; - Ability to work individually and in groups, ability to take responsibility for the results of your work; - English language proficiency at least at B2 level to ensure correspondence with foreign cooperation partners and organize business trips.
