A SENIOR EXPERT
(state civil service officer position for an indefinite term)
If you are interested in the development and implementation of climate finance instruments, we invite you to join the Ministry of Climate and Energy team!
WE WILL ENTRUST YOU with responsibilities related to ensuring the operation of the Modernization Fund in Latvia.
WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
higher academic education or second-level higher professional education in environmental science, economics, or management, or other education corresponding to the position, supplemented with specialized knowledge appropriate to the role;
knowledge and understanding of the principles of state administration, the types and hierarchy of legal acts and policy planning documents, as well as project management and implementation;
desirable: at least one year of work experience in state administration;
knowledge of international, European Union, and Latvia's climate and energy policy, its current issues, corresponding international and national policy planning documents and legal acts;
knowledge of Latvia's institutional system in the field of climate policy, European Union institutions, and the most significant international organizations;
knowledge and understanding of national and international climate finance instruments;
desirable: experience working with European Union and international cooperation issues;
very good English language skills (the performance of job duties involves working with documents in English, participation in international working groups, communication with international organizations);
competencies - ability to work both in a team and independently, good communication skills, conceptual thinking, results-oriented approach, ethical conduct;
compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law.
