The Nature Conservation Agency (Reg. No.: 90009099027) announces a competition for a
Senior Expert position at the Kurzeme Regional Administration
for an indefinite period (full-time)
Requirements for candidates:
Compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law;
Higher academic or second-level professional higher education in environmental sciences, natural sciences, forest sciences, or legal sciences;
Knowledge and practical experience working with legal acts regulating nature and environmental protection (work experience in state administration or municipal institutions and agencies working with nature or environmental protection regulations will be considered an advantage);
Knowledge in species and habitat identification;
High sense of responsibility, ability to work with large volumes of information, ability to independently prepare decisions;
Analytical thinking, good communication, argumentation, and cooperation skills, and ability to effectively plan and organize work;
Ability to work in a team;
Good skills in working with office equipment and MS Office software;
Category B driver's license;
Desirable English language knowledge (for communication with foreign colleagues, participation in international seminars)
Main job responsibilities:
Preparing draft permits, approvals, and opinions provided for in legal acts regulating nature conservation, evaluating the impact of planned activities on specially protected nature values;
Preparing responses to submissions, administrative acts, and other documents in the field of nature conservation;
Advising the public on requirements of legal acts regulating nature conservation;
Participating in the implementation of projects in the field of nature conservation carried out by the administration.
