MINISTRY OF SMART ADMINISTRATION AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT announces a competition for a SENIOR EXPERT position in the Internal Audit Division of the Audit Department (state civil service officer position) ABOUT US The Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development is the leading state administration institution in the areas of regional development planning and coordination, municipal development and supervision, territorial development planning and land management, implementation of the one-stop-shop principle for state and municipal service accessibility, as well as e-governance, digital transformation in public administration, and nature protection. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: conduct and manage internal audits within the ministry and its subordinate institutions, including audits of management and control systems for programs or projects financed by European Union funds or other financial instruments, and project audits; participate in audit work planning and organization, report preparation, and cooperation with internal and external audits. WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE: higher education supplemented with training in internal audit; an internal auditor certificate (or readiness to obtain one); at least two years of experience in audit, control, or risk management (experience conducting internal audits or IT audits will be considered an advantage); understanding of state administration structure and preferably experience working in state administration; knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Latvia and the European Union, as well as international internal audit standards; analytical thinking, ability to structure information and draw substantiated conclusions; good communication and collaboration skills, high sense of responsibility, accuracy, and ethics; good English language skills (performance of duties involves working with documents and communication in English); compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law.
