Subject Area: Latvian language and literature in secondary school (1 full workload)

Position Objective:
Within the framework of the ESF+ project "Development of Pedagogical Professional Support System" No. 4.2.2.3/1/24/I/001, provide unified and strategically supervised support in general education at the state level, monitor the process of implementing regulatory acts, develop cooperation with methodological centers of general education institutions, industry experts and associations, ensuring methodological support measures and consultations for general education teachers.
Main Duties:
Provide unified and strategically supervised professional support (in the relevant subject area and in terms of educational implementation) in general and vocational education at the state level, utilizing existing professional support networks and coordinating cooperation of involved parties, as well as strengthening the practice of implementing professional support in municipalities and cooperation with vocational education institutions in the implementation of general education curriculum;
Implement methodological support measures and consultations for education quality development to municipal subject area/subject coordinators and educators within subject areas and disciplines;
Plan and organize methodological support measures and consultations for education quality development to municipal methodological work coordinators and educators within subject areas and disciplines;
Analyze trends in general education content development in the European Union and worldwide, analyze and compile information in various general education content areas;
Evaluate sample curriculum programs and plan their updating in preschool, general basic education, and general secondary education;
Evaluate or adapt general education methodological support materials, including piloting, peer review, publishing and maintenance, in accordance with provisions set in preschool education guidelines and state basic education and general secondary education standards, as well as organize professional development according to identified needs;
Coordinate and supervise the content of developed materials between subject areas and educational levels and in teacher professional development;
Represent the project in curriculum development issues to state and municipal institutions, as well as in relations with natural and legal persons, if related to project implementation issues;
Consult public representatives in your area of responsibility.
Requirements for Candidates:
Master's degree or higher education in the field/pedagogy;
At least 3 years of work experience in pedagogical work in an educational institution;
At least 3 years of work experience in developing and creating curriculum content and methodological materials;
Work experience in management;
Knowledge and skills in coordinating working groups, developing and creating curriculum content and methodological materials;
Cooperation and effective communication skills;
Ability to argue and substantiate your opinion;
Excellent knowledge of Latvian;
Ability to work with computers, use software applications and other information technologies.
The position is classified at level III of job family 39.1 (10th salary group).
