MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE (Registration No. 90000064161) announces an open competition for a fixed-term vacant position of Senior Expert at the Food Circulation, Hygiene and Quality Division of the Department of Animal Health, Breeding, Protection and Food Safety:

Your main duties will be:
analyze the situation, prepare proposals for policy planning documents and develop draft legislation on milk and dairy product quality, classification, labeling and control, fresh milk quality control (laboratory recognition) and food business operator registration and recognition.
Requirements for applicants:
must meet the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law;
higher education in food technology, veterinary medicine, nutrition science, or agriculture;
at least three years of professional work experience in food technology, veterinary medicine, nutrition science or agriculture within the last 10 years;
desired work experience in public administration in drafting legislation or policy planning documents;
knowledge of legislation regulating food circulation and veterinary medicine;
knowledge of legislative drafting;
English language knowledge (correspondence and communication with EU institutions);
knowledge of Latvian business correspondence and writing culture;
good skills in working with computer programs MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office Outlook, web browsers;
good communication skills and ability to work in a team;
analytical thinking.
To perform the duties of the position, the official must:
use an independently issued national electronic identification solution, i.e., eParaksts mobile, eParaksts eID.
