The State Employment Agency (hereinafter - the Agency)
announces a competition for a vacant employee position:
Department of the Labor Market
ESF Plus project "Support for Better and Longer Working Lives" (hereinafter - the Project)
Senior Expert/Specialist
(1 position on a fixed-term basis - for the duration of the project until December 31, 2029)
Objective of the Vacant Position - To ensure the implementation of the Project in accordance with the requirements of legal acts, project objectives and tasks, approved indicators and defined results, to provide the project's target groups (employers and their employees, including employees aged 45 years or older, who have been identified with occupational diseases, their signs, or for whom an occupational health physician or an occupational health and disease physician has recommended health-promoting or health-improving measures during mandatory health examinations) with support through implementation of project-supported activities and to supervise their execution.
Requirements for Candidates:
academic or second-level professional higher education;
at least two years of work experience in the field of employment or project management;
understanding of state policy in the field of employment and European Union employment policy issues;
knowledge of the legal acts of the Republic of Latvia within the scope of the position's competence;
collaboration, planning, organization, analytical and communication skills;
state language education acquired in Latvia or state language proficiency corresponding to C1 level;
good knowledge of English language, both spoken and written, for experience exchange and cooperation with employment institutions of other countries;
good computer skills (MS Word, Excel) and office equipment proficiency;
excellent business communication skills, both oral and written;
a valid e-signature tool is required to perform the duties of the position.
Main Duties of the Position:
to implement and supervise project-supported activities for the project's target group, including supervising the activities of project partners - the Agency of Riga Stradiņš University "Institute of Labor Safety and Environmental Health", the Free Trade Union Confederation of Latvia, and the Confederation of Latvian Employers, in accordance with the timeline and achievable results specified in the project, and regularly evaluate and report to the project manager on the progress of project activity implementation;
to participate in the development and maintenance of the Agency's internal legal acts and the Agency's Quality Management System process that determines the organization of project activities;
to participate in the development of the procedure and process for employer selection;
to participate in the preparation of procurement documentation necessary for project implementation.

The Selection Competition will be held in three rounds:
First Round - Evaluation of candidates' education and work experience based on submitted documents.
Second Round – Practical assignment, based on the results of which the candidate's professional knowledge will be evaluated.
Third Round - Interview, during which the candidate's knowledge and competencies in accordance with the requirements specified for the position will be evaluated. Only candidates who have qualified for the third round based on their performance in the second round will be invited to the interview.
For candidates who have obtained their education abroad, we request that you attach a document confirming its academic recognition in Latvia.
The Candidate Evaluation Commission will not evaluate applications that do not include the documents specified in the announcement. Within one week after the deadline of the announcement expires, we will contact candidates who are selected for the second round of personnel selection.
