the position of Senior Expert at the
Special Education Division
of the Department of Learning Support and Inclusive Education (part-time – 20 hours per week)
(one position for an indefinite period)

Main job responsibilities:
Organize and coordinate the professional development of support teams across all education levels, heads of pedagogical-medical commissions in accordance with needs.
Organize and coordinate professional development of education methodologists and educators from special education development centers in accordance with the centers' profiles.
Organization of best practices and informational seminars in cooperation with special education development centers and general education institutions.
Requirements for candidates:
higher education in educational psychology, clinical psychology, speech-language pathology, or pedagogy, corresponding to level six of the Latvian Qualifications Framework;
at least three years of experience in special and inclusive education;
experience working with information of limited accessibility;
knowledge of the special and inclusive education system's operations and target groups in special education;
knowledge of regulatory acts related to job duties and the ability to apply these regulatory acts;
ability to speak publicly and create presentations;
ability to argue and substantiate your opinion;
excellent computer skills, ability to use computer programs and other information technologies;
excellent command of the Latvian language.

The candidate competition will be held in two rounds. First round – evaluation of submitted documents by candidates. Second round – interview, during which the knowledge and suitability of each candidate to the specified requirements will be evaluated.
