at the Special Education Department
of the Learning Support and Inclusive Education Division
(one position for an indefinite period)

Main duties of the position:
Develop and improve the inclusive education support system for students with special needs and learning difficulties, by establishing and implementing effective cooperation strategies between educational institutions, support personnel and municipal institutions to ensure the full inclusion of these children in the learning process.
Develop a national-level skills framework (including communication, collaboration and other learning skills) necessary for students' successful inclusion in educational institutions and acquisition of general education programmes, providing methodological basis and strategic support.
Proactively research and evaluate international trends, using research results and creating data-driven solutions.
Requirements for candidates:
higher education in educational psychology, clinical psychology, speech-language pathology or pedagogy, corresponding to the sixth level of the Latvian Qualifications Framework;
at least three years of experience in the field of special education;
at least three years of experience in assessing children's and students' abilities and development levels;
experience working with restricted access information;
knowledge of the special and inclusive education system's functioning and special education target groups;
knowledge of regulatory acts related to the duties of the position and the ability to apply these regulatory acts;
ability to speak publicly and create presentations;
ability to argue and justify your opinion;
excellent computer skills, proficiency in computer programmes and other information technologies;
excellent Latvian language proficiency.
