The National Library of Latvia (hereinafter – NLL) announces a competition for a vacant position in the Department of Digital Development DIGITAL SERVICES LIBRARIAN (profession code – 2622 02) 1 position for an indefinite period We are looking for an initiative-rich and creative colleague who is passionate about digital services, communication, content creation, and collaboration with partners from the culture and education sectors. Key Job Responsibilities plan and implement communication and promotion of the Latvia Digital Cultural Heritage Platform and NLL digital collections, encouraging their use among various target groups in society, including: create content for the Digital Library, social networks, websites, media, and other communication channels; organize publicity, educational, and community engagement events, campaigns, and other activities; prepare reports on resource usage and analyze usage trends, digital services utilization data, and propose recommendations for service improvements; organize and conduct seminars, training programs, and professional development activities; participate in the development and implementation of the Latvia Digital Cultural Heritage Platform and NLL digital collections and services; coordinate the development of digital resources, collections, and digital research services, as well as oversee the quality of digital collection content and data; coordinate cooperation with digital cultural heritage partners and promote unified service development and communication; monitor development trends in the digital cultural heritage sector and implement best international practices. Requirements for Candidates: higher education in library science or higher education in humanities, social sciences, or management sciences; professional experience in the development, coordination, or promotion of digital services, library services, or cultural information services; experience in planning and organizing projects, communication activities, seminars, or other professional events; experience in content creation for digital communication channels; understanding of library sector, digital cultural heritage, and digital services development trends; knowledge of the use of digitized resources and information retrieval in them; understanding of the needs of various target audiences and user-oriented service principles; ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and prepare recommendations for service improvements; state language knowledge at an advanced level; English language knowledge at a level that ensures job responsibilities (at least B2 level) when collaborating with international partners; excellent collaboration, communication, and public presentation skills; initiative, high sense of responsibility, creative approach to work, and results-oriented mindset. We will consider the following as advantages: experience in digital communication or digital marketing activities; experience working with content management systems and social media platforms; experience working with Google Analytics, Power BI, or other data analysis tools; experience working with digital cultural heritage collections or metadata; experience collaborating with cultural, educational, or research institutions; experience in international projects.
