About the Job
Västerskolan is a grades 7-9 school with approximately 300 students, located on the outskirts of central Uddevalla.
The school has three age-homogeneous work teams where teachers have most or all of their instruction within their grade level. Each work team also has a specialist teacher assigned.
We also have a student welfare team that includes a school counselor, school social worker, school nurse, special educator, and principal. The collaboration between the student welfare team and work teams is well-functioning and highly appreciated.
The school is led by a principal together with a leadership team consisting of work team leaders. This ensures that information flows smoothly to and from work teams and the leadership group, and that opportunities for influence are felt to be good.
In recent years, the school has actively worked to develop and implement common lesson structures that promote learning while clearly defining what it means to take on the student role during lessons. Building relationships between adults at the school and our students is also something we place great emphasis on in all contexts.

Responsibilities
The position includes teaching Swedish and possibly other subjects depending on your qualifications. You will also be part of a well-functioning work team where you, as a mentor, have primary responsibility for a number of students in your class, but where you also collaborate to help all students in the work team.

Qualifications
Teacher certification in Swedish for middle school.
