The Medical Acute Care Department, MAVA, is part of the Internal Medicine business area. Advanced and varied care is provided here for patients with acute medical conditions.
At MAVA, patients are treated for conditions including heart problems, poisonings, diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, and other acute internal medicine conditions. The department has 20 care beds and the capability for cardiac monitoring (telemetry) on 10 beds. Care stays are often short, which creates a fast pace and dynamic work environment where teamwork and quick problem-solving are central.
Nurses, nursing assistants, and physicians work here. When needed, we also collaborate with paramedical expertise. The work team is engaged and experienced with a strong patient focus – we receive patients primarily from the emergency department and IMA, always with professionalism, commitment, and a clear understanding of our mission. The department is currently dependent on temporary staff, which makes leadership and work on competency development especially important.
We are now looking for a care unit manager who wants to lead an operation where pace, teamwork, and a holistic approach are a natural part of everyday work.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a care unit manager at MAVA, you provide active and present leadership. You are responsible for personnel, work environment, and budget for approximately 40 nurses and nursing assistants. You lead the operation together with an assistant care unit manager who also has personnel responsibility for parts of the group, which provides good conditions for close and sustainable leadership. You also work closely with support functions such as HR partner, economist, and chief secretary.
The role requires a confident and stable leader who can combine structure with relationship-building and care, and who thrives in an environment where acute situations can arise. You are part of the business area's management group and contribute to the wider Internal Medicine and healthcare landscape.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have
• education within healthcare, or alternatively higher education combined with work experience within healthcare
• experience of having been a manager
• good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
