The Children and Young People Unit - Reception and Investigation is responsible for handling cases concerning children and young people aged 0–21 years.
We have 17 dedicated social workers, two team leaders, two administrators and a unit manager. Together we are a competent, experienced and helpful work group that values collaboration, security and work satisfaction.
We are now seeking new employees for our unit as we are expanding our activities with an additional social worker, while some of our colleagues have moved on to new challenges. We are therefore looking for you who want to be part of our team and contribute with your commitment and expertise.
We are currently recruiting staff for both the reception group and the investigation group.
We actively work to develop our working methods to provide children and families with professional treatment and lawful case handling. Signs of Safety is a central approach in our work, where we collaborate closely with children, parents and their networks. We place great emphasis on trust, respect and ensuring that the child feels involved and understands what is happening.
At the same time, we are adapting our activities to the new social services law, which strengthens the child perspective and provides increased opportunities for prevention and more accessible measures. We look forward to continuing to develop our work and making the most of the opportunities this brings.

About the department
We are here for people. We offer various types of support to children, young people, families and adults who in some way have a need for our services. We provide people with the support they need so that they can then move forward on their own to work, studies or in another way get help to develop. We take care of our elderly when they need support in their daily lives. We are one of the few municipalities in Sweden that has an integrated social services department. This means that authority work as well as treatment and support services are in the same department. We see this as an enormous strength. We create value for our residents and contribute to a good and dignified life – for everyone, regardless of their circumstances. We place great emphasis on early interventions and preventive work, professional and individually tailored support. We are a learning workplace - We make each other better through our quality work with a focus on those we serve. We are the Social and Care Department – part of Hudiksvall Municipality.
