The Welfare Sector encompasses several different areas within Gävle Municipality, such as care units, adult education, social services, the labor market unit, and the unit for daily activities. We work to provide municipality residents with a good living environment. Within the area of local and property management, the internal service unit and local support unit are included, where all of the sector's custodians are organized.

WORK RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you want to help create a well-functioning and pleasant environment for our operations? We are now looking for a service-oriented and committed custodian who enjoys varied work where no two days are the same. In your role as custodian, you will be the important link between the property owner and the properties we rent. You handle error reports and work orders through established contacts and work closely with your colleagues within the sector's custodian group.
Your main work responsibilities will include:
• Maintenance and upkeep of the properties' indoor and outdoor areas, minor repairs and maintenance work.
• Waste management and recycling in our common areas.
• Monitor and report security-related incidents in which you participate and are responsible for reviewing any comments following safety rounds and fire safety rounds.
• The position includes some heavy lifting, such as furniture moves in our buildings and residences; for this you need to have good physical fitness.
• Other work tasks of a custodian nature.
QUALIFICATIONS
As a custodian, you have a varied and eventful workday where you need to be able to prioritize and act efficiently, even in situations with a fast pace and many people moving about. You enjoy taking your own responsibility and work equally well independently as together with colleagues to create a well-functioning operation.
We are looking for you who have:
• At least upper secondary education, preferably with a practical focus such as construction, electrical work or technology, or education in property maintenance. If you do not have a practical focus in your upper secondary education, you can also have several years of work experience that the employer considers equivalent.
• Experience in custodial or property maintenance work.
• Technical knowledge and good IT skills. You work seamlessly in Microsoft 365 and have good knowledge of Excel, Teams, Outlook and Word.
• Good language proficiency in Swedish in both speech and writing.
• Class B driver's license for manual transmission.
To succeed in the position, you have:
• An ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally. You collaborate well with people in different contexts and functions.
• An unpretentious approach to your collaboration with colleagues, citizens and stakeholders.
• An ability to find solutions to arising problems.
• You can express yourself well in a clear and concrete manner. You adapt your language in both speech and writing based on the recipient.
• You adapt to different situations and have the ability to change your perspective and approach. You see opportunities in changes.
To work as a custodian within the welfare sector, you as a final candidate need to provide an extract from the criminal record and suspicion register for work with elderly or adults with disabilities.
