The Education Department is responsible for all activities within the municipality's preschools, elementary schools, adapted elementary school, after-school care, upper secondary school, and adult education. Tingvallaskolan is a growing school taking major steps to meet future opportunities and challenges. We currently have approximately 530 students from preschool class through grade 9, and about 80 permanent employees working at the school. In addition to our regular classes, we have a preparatory class and a resource unit for students with language vulnerabilities. We have students from all corners of the world, which enriches our school. Our school was completed in the fall of 2022 and offers learning environments built for teaching that invite learning. We have the forest close to the school and also Märsta sports field, which is used during the school year to increase physical activity among our students. At the school, dedicated and competent staff work together in ongoing collegial learning. DUTIES The position of Facilities Manager requires that you are skilled and generally handy with good self-motivation. As a Facilities Manager and adult at the school, you act as a role model for all students. Creating good relationships with students and collaborating with school staff is essential for succeeding in this work. As a Facilities Manager, you will work on facility maintenance both indoors and outdoors, repairs/upkeep, handle maintenance requests, manage mail and receive deliveries to the school, collaborate with the Local Administration, and conduct regular safety and fire inspections (SBA). Another important part of the work is to administer and maintain our digital equipment (iPads for students and staff, as well as everything related to our digital devices regarding malfunction reports, installation, etc.). You therefore need to have good computer and IT skills. The work also includes keeping the facilities in good condition, for example painting, spackling, and repairing when needed. The duties include a large degree of variation and independence as well as structure in both the administrative and daily work aspects. QUALIFICATIONS Our current Facilities Manager will soon retire, and we are looking for a capable professional who can ensure our school runs smoothly. We would like you to have previous experience working as a Facilities Manager at a school. As a person, we want you to be able to work according to clear processes and can organize and plan your work well. You need to be able to complete tasks you've started and meet the deadlines that are set. As an adult at the school, you are confident and committed to upholding the school's values, which means being able to speak up appropriately to students and having the ability to separate the issue from the person. At Tingvallaskolan, we are unpretentious, and you should be too. You collaborate well with all colleagues at the school and focus on the common goal, quickly finding solutions to problems that arise.
