for one (1) LEADING RESEARCHER position (0.11 workload) – Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information and Communication Technology field; Power Engineering sub-field
Duties and Qualification Requirements:
· Required Education: Doctoral degree;
· Ability to independently conduct scientific research and lead scientific research work;
· At least 5 (five) years of scientific and academic work experience;
· Scientific publications corresponding to the field of science;
· For candidates applying for the first time, a minimum of 3 (three) publications is required, of which 1 (one) must be indexed in international citation databases. For candidates applying repeatedly, during the last six years a minimum of 5 (five) publications is required, of which 3 (three) must be indexed in international citation databases, with RTU listed as the author's affiliated institution;
· For first-time candidates, the CV must include a link to the candidate's created and, if possible, completed ORCID profile (https://orcid.org/);
· For repeatedly applying candidates, the CV must include a link to the created ORCID profile (https://orcid.org/) containing:
o information about at least - the candidate's biography, previous and current employment, education, scientific publications and projects from the last 6 years;
o links to the employee's Web of Science profile (ResearcherID) and SCOPUS profile (Scopus Author ID), if the author has indexed publications in these bibliographic databases;
· Ability to work in an international environment in English;
· Good knowledge of Latvian;
English language proficiency is required to perform job duties and for professional cooperation and participation in an international environment.
Salary: 18.00 EUR/hour.
Candidates wishing to participate in the competition must submit electronically to the Riga Technical University Personnel Management Department (signed with a secure electronic signature) to the email ([email protected]):
an application addressed to the rector regarding participation in the competition;
a curriculum vitae indicating scientific, pedagogical, organizational work experience and a list of published works from the last 6 (six) years (it is recommended to attach the list of published works as a separate appendix), as well as other documents the candidate wishes to attach to the application to more fully characterize their qualifications;
copies of documents confirming scientific/academic degrees or higher education and, if necessary, other documents specified in regulatory acts (for example, documents confirming state language proficiency level, etc.), presenting their originals if the candidate is participating in a competition for a position at RTU for the first time and has not previously submitted these document copies to the Personnel Department;
a public presentation report on their scientific work, to be presented to the structural unit (or council/board) in a timely manner before election.

The competition deadline is one month from the date of publication of the announcement on the State Employment Agency website and the National Scientific Activities Information System.
