South Kurland Municipality invites a candidate with a strong sense of responsibility and precision to join our team for the position of Director/Head (Education Sector) at Nīca Preschool Education Institution "Spārīte" (the position has official status). Mandatory Requirements for Candidates: The candidate must not be subject to restrictions on working as a pedagogue as set out in the Education Law and the Law on Protection of Children's Rights; The candidate's education must meet the requirements for educators stipulated in the Education Law and Cabinet of Ministers regulations regarding necessary education and professional qualifications and professional development procedures; The candidate must have proficiency in the state language at the highest level in accordance with the State Language Law and at least one official European Union language at the level necessary for professional activities (language requirement specified in Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 496 of 19.08.2014, Section 5.3); The candidate must have at least three years of pedagogical work experience in education or educational management. Additional Requirements: Strategic vision of the institution's development vision and values for the next three years and understanding of change processes in an educational institution; Knowledge and competence in school management; Knowledge and experience in budgeting and execution for educational institutions; Knowledge and experience in applying legal acts regulating education and labor relations; Ability to provide competent answers to questions related to job duties; Ability to argue and express opinions; Unblemished reputation; Communication and digital technology skills; Desirable: Category B driver's license. Main Job Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with the requirements of the laws of the Republic of Latvia, Cabinet of Ministers regulations, and other legal acts regulating education in the institution's operations; Develop and ensure the operation of a risk management and internal control system in the educational institution; Report to law enforcement authorities, health protection institutions, and child protection bodies about cases of emotional or physical violence against children in or outside the educational institution; Provide the educational institution with employees of appropriate qualifications, define job responsibilities, organize training and professional development; Responsible for developing and editing internal regulatory documents governing the institution's operations; Direct, plan, and organize the institution's administrative activities, ensure timely planning of methodological work and program development, monitor and correct implementation; Hire and dismiss pedagogues and other employees in accordance with legal procedures; Develop the institution's budget draft, submit it for review and approval by South Kurland Municipality; Manage and distribute financial, personnel, and other resources, conclude contracts on matters within the institution's competence in accordance with the institution's charter; Cooperate with the Ministry of Education and Science, the municipality, and South Kurland Education Administration on education process organization and quality assurance matters; Organize the creation and maintenance of a unified database in the educational institution; Ensure a safe, health-appropriate, and psychologically favorable environment in the educational institution; Responsible for compliance with mandatory documentation approved by the Cabinet of Ministers and ensure its storage and security in the educational institution; Provide support to institution employees on core business matters; Know legal acts on education, follow changes in them, promptly inform employees and correct the institution's internal regulatory acts; Review suggestions and complaints within own competence, prepare responses in the manner prescribed by law; Cooperate with South Kurland Municipality, institution employees, parents of students, and representatives of other institutions, ensure development and implementation of educational development programs.
