Water and Wastewater Technician

About the Position The Water and Wastewater (VA) unit is part of the infrastructure management operations and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of municipal water and wastewater facilities, roads and streets, waste management, and emptying of private septic tanks. The position may include on-call duty. About the Workplace You will work alongside fantastic colleagues where no two days are alike, with work tasks spanning from Ammarnäs to Gargnäs and everywhere in between. Base location is Sorsele. Your Responsibilities Operation and maintenance of the municipality's water and wastewater facilities including pump stations, wastewater treatment plants, water treatment plants, reservoirs, and pipe networks. Installation of pipes in the ground for renovations and new construction projects. Troubleshooting and repairs of facilities, pipe networks, and other equipment. Monitoring of water and wastewater operations together with the VA coordinator. Participation in other work tasks within the operations. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with post-secondary education focused on technical subjects or equivalent work experience in water and wastewater operations. You have well-developed IT competence/good computer skills and the ability to express yourself clearly in speech and writing. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. We are looking for someone who appreciates a wide range of work tasks and who is thorough, driven, and independent in your professional practice. The ability to maintain good communication and collaborate with colleagues and other professional contacts is essential for success in this position. We expect you to be open to learning and training yourself in the areas needed by the operations. Skills and Qualifications Category B driver's license is required. It is advantageous if you have worked in a similar operation previously. Additional advantages include a heavy vehicle driver's license (Category C, E) or authorization to operate wheel loaders.
