Description This position is located within the Quality and Development Unit under the Municipal Executive Administration. The unit has a municipality-wide mandate and coordinates and develops several of the municipality's strategic processes and development areas such as planning and follow-up, quality and operational development, EU coordination, democracy and rural development, social sustainability, business development, and digitalization. Strengthening and developing democracy in the municipality is a central part of the municipality's continued development. An important part of this work takes place through Gislaveds Municipality's Democracy Board, which is a political advisory body to the Municipal Assembly and whose main purpose is to work long-term on democracy development in the municipality. Since 2018, Gislaveds Municipality is also a Finnish administrative area, which means the municipality has certain special obligations toward the Finnish-speaking minority in the municipality. Duties As a development leader, you will work at an overarching level leading, coordinating, and following up on the municipality's overall democracy development, with a focus on strengthening trust, participation, and engagement for the municipality as a societal developer. In this role, you support the Democracy Board and evaluate its work based on the municipality's goals and directions. You coordinate and develop the municipality's work with the Youth Council and children's rights issues, and you drive municipality-wide processes and projects within democracy and societal development. You are also responsible for the municipality's work as a Finnish administrative area and work according to the municipality's minority policy goals and guidelines. This includes, among other things, developing working methods and competence regarding minority legislation, as well as strengthening and highlighting minority cultures and minority languages. You will represent the municipality in certain regional and national networks. Qualifications We are looking for someone with relevant university education of at least three years, for example in political science, public administration, or another social science orientation. Alternatively, other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent. We further see that: you have experience with similar tasks within municipal/public operations, particularly from work with democracy development good knowledge of municipal organization and public operations, and the interaction between politics and administration experience in independently driving and coordinating development assignments and projects you have experience in process management and change management you have a good ability to communicate fluently in Swedish both orally and in writing. Knowledge of the Finnish language is advantageous. you are internationally oriented, responsible, analytical, systematic, driven, and communicative you find it easy to collaborate but are also independent in your work you have good computer skills and very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package you see opportunities in the work and contribute to developing the assignment and area in which you operate Your collaboration is deeply connected to your ability to work together and participate in your own and the organization's development.
