Library Developer

Library Development Library Development works strategically to share knowledge, promote collaboration, and enable development for public libraries in Jönköping County. We are seeking a developer who wants to contribute to libraries' democratic mission, where the role in society and the reading promotion mission are particularly relevant. The Role of Library Developer In the regional development mission, you work to ensure that the county's residents are offered relevant, equitable, and high-quality library services. You work together with colleagues and in close collaboration and dialogue with public library staff and other partners. As a developer, you initiate, drive, and guide projects and processes that promote collaboration and meet public libraries' development needs. You monitor the external environment, explore and share new knowledge and methods, including through support and training opportunities for public library staff. You follow up, analyze, and evaluate initiatives. Creating and maintaining contacts, driving networks regionally, and participating in interregional networks are important parts of the role. We offer a permanent position starting in November, or by agreement, based in Jönköping with travel both within and outside the county, where a B-class driver's license is required. Your Future Workplace Library Development is part of Cultural Development within Regional Development and consists of a unit manager and four developers. We work with library development at a strategic level, where the primary target audience is staff at public libraries in Jönköping County. The mission is based on the Library Act and the Library Plan for Region Jönköping County 2026-2029, with our mission to share knowledge, promote collaboration, and enable development. Your Profile We are looking for someone with an academic degree in library and information science. You have experience from the library sector and are well familiar with libraries' democratic and reading promotion missions. Working outward and collaborating with other actors to reach prioritized groups and new users is natural for you. You have documented experience in process-leading groups and driving development and change work together with various actors. You work independently and in a structured manner, adapt to different needs, and find solutions. The work requires curiosity, reflection, and a willingness to learn with a connection to current research. You express yourself well both verbally and in writing and have the ability to inspire and create engagement in others. You build and develop relationships in a responsive and professional manner and enjoy collaborating to achieve common goals. You have a strategic approach, see the bigger picture and long-term consequences, and plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently. We place great importance on personal qualities.
