Krokoms municipality is growing in both population and businesses. Growth ambitions are high. The goal is to reach 19,300 residents by 2035, and we want to get there in a sustainable way—environmentally, socially, and economically. Within the municipality there are about 20 water treatment plants and approximately the same number of wastewater treatment plants. The network consists of over 360 km of drinking water pipes, over 250 km of wastewater pipes, and approximately 100 km of stormwater pipes that must be managed and maintained, while at the same time we develop new areas for residential and business purposes with new pipes being laid. As an investigation engineer in the Water and Wastewater department, you are responsible for driving projects or assignments, from start to finish, that contribute to achieving the goals our elected officials have decided upon. You work in a team with water and wastewater engineers, case handlers, and a technical assistant, and although each person has their areas of responsibility, you together contribute with your skills and experience to reach the goals. The Administration Office serves three boards: the Municipal Executive Board, the Building and Environmental Board, and the Community Development Board. The office employs approximately 135 employees and is divided into three areas: administration, building and environment, and community development and growth, where the Water and Wastewater department is located. A day as an investigation engineer in the Water and Wastewater department You will have primary responsibility for strategic work with drinking water pipes, wastewater pipes, pressure boosters, and pump stations. The role also includes developing industrial agreements, monitoring and coordinating feedback on detailed plans, building permits, and environmental notifications. You will also plan, prioritize, and coordinate renewal, measures, maintenance, investments, projects, and quality within the pipe network area. Work tasks may change over time based on operational needs and ongoing projects. One major advantage of working in a municipality the size of Krokoms is that it is close to other operations. You enjoy coordinating many actors and have a strong commitment to community development, sustainable development, and public benefit. Your qualifications You have an academic degree in roads and water, environment, community development, or equivalent education that we consider relevant for the job. You may also be interesting to us if you lack an academic degree but have acquired competence and experience through working life that we consider equivalent. You have several years of experience working as an investigator/project manager, preferably within water and wastewater. You are therefore an experienced investigator/project manager who feels confident taking on different roles in a project. We appreciate it if you are familiar with digital tools such as for example VA-banken, mapping programs, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, or GIS/Geosecma. You have an easy time speaking Swedish in both speech and writing and have the ability to describe technically complex issues in a clear way that enables our elected officials to understand and make strategic decisions. It is positive if you have experience working in a politically governed organization. We see that you are a confident and independent team player who enjoys taking initiative for development and improvement and contributes to a good atmosphere in the work group. You value and maintain good relationships both internally and externally, and you are constructive in problem-solving to reach a good overall result. Travel within and outside the municipality is part of the position and a driver's license is a requirement. Other information Permanent employment on a full-time basis with start date by agreement.
