Our office is located on Fleminggatan in central Stockholm. We currently have approximately 220 employees. About CVE The Center Against Violent Extremism (CVE) has existed since January 2018. The center is to strengthen and develop preventive work against violent extremism at the national, regional and local level. This is to be done, among other things, by being a knowledge hub, providing tailored support to local actors and contributing to creating a higher degree of efficiency and coordination in preventive efforts. The center is placed within the Crime Prevention Council and cooperates with authorities, municipalities, civil society and other relevant actors. Since March 1, 2025, the center has a mandate aimed at preventing public funds from reaching violent and antidemocratic environments. This is done by being a contact point for authorities and others who distribute public funds or otherwise review publicly funded activities. As part of the contact point function, CVE assists with in-depth reviews of activities that may be assumed to have connections to violent extremism or other antidemocratic environments. The operation is still in a formative stage and we are now seeking additional investigators. About the Job Reviews are carried out at the request of a decision-making body that, within the scope of its government assignment, distributes public funds or otherwise reviews publicly funded activities. Your task as an investigator is to drive the review from start to finish, where you, among other things, gather and analyze information from various sources and materials and write statements on completed reviews. You are responsible for ensuring this is done in a legally secure manner and that reviews maintain high quality. The work is conducted in close cooperation with other investigators and places high demands on the ability to analyze and share information, consider different perspectives and contribute to joint assessments. In your role as an investigator, you also cooperate with other departments within the agency. Work as a contact point also involves supporting and cooperating with authorities and other stakeholders on a more overarching level, as well as keeping yourself updated within areas relevant to the assignment. You will also be involved in developing the operation together with your colleagues and the unit manager. The job places high demands on good judgment, the ability to see the whole picture and understand the assignment in its context and purpose. Your Education and Experience We are looking for someone who has - relevant academic degree in, for example, political science, law, religious studies, police education or equivalent education/experience that the agency deems equivalent - at least two years of experience in qualified investigative, research or intelligence work where you have gathered, processed and analyzed information - strong analytical ability - experience gathering and analyzing information from various sources, particularly open sources - good ability to gather, structure and assess information and complex contexts - good ability to explain reasoning in a pedagogical and clear manner both verbally and in writing - good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English - knowledge of violent extremism and/or other antidemocratic environments - Swedish citizenship as the position is classified for security purposes. It is meritorious if you have - experience with agency cooperation - experience gathering and analyzing financial data - experience representing the employer in external contexts - familiarity with reading legal texts and interpreting and applying regulations - experience in investigation and analysis within crime prevention or crime fighting activities - good reading and listening comprehension in languages that may be relevant to the position - knowledge of civil society's structure and working methods. Your Personal Qualities As a person, you have good judgment, high integrity, an analytical and critical approach to sources, good cooperation skills in both internal and external contexts and the ability to handle complex and sometimes sensitive issues. Great weight is placed on your personal qualities and abilities. Terms of Employment The employment is a permanent position. We apply a 6-month probationary period and individual salary setting.
