The Swedish Chemicals Agency is a government agency tasked with reducing the risks of chemicals harming people and the environment. This position is located in the Product Register and Chemical Statistics unit, which is part of the Supervision and Advice department. The unit is responsible for a register of chemical products and biotechnological organisms manufactured in or imported into Sweden. We help companies, among other things, with their registrations in the product register where approximately 3,000 companies register their products annually. The unit is also responsible for official statistics, other statistics, and knowledge bases to monitor and follow the development of chemicals in Sweden. The information in the register is also used for supervision, to develop regulations, and as the basis for the annual chemical fee. We now have an exciting position that encompasses varied tasks within production, development of statistical work, and coordination of official statistics. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS The Swedish Chemicals Agency needs to strengthen its work with official statistics by developing and strengthening work processes and statistical products. This is a new role that will be both a unifying and driving force in our transition toward quality-assured and relevant statistical production. The role will include work with both official statistics, other statistics, and knowledge bases. It is a broad role that encompasses coordinating and driving development. It includes operational statistical work in several stages of statistical production and, as needed, participation in government assignments and internally initiated projects at the agency. The vision is that the Swedish Chemicals Agency's statistics shall be relevant, useful, credible, produced with quality, and that we work with curiosity to produce and disseminate knowledge about the chemical situation in Sweden. You will work with: • developing and implementing processes and routines for the production of official statistics and other statistics • coordination of official statistics • developing the quality and content of statistics • supporting production and preparation of official statistics and other statistics • operational statistical work such as quality declarations, statistical production, contacts with Statistics Sweden (SCB), open data and accessibility of statistics, statistical platform/digital conditions • development of new statistics and maintaining contacts with stakeholders regarding requests and needs for statistics • various assignments, sometimes in a project management role • participating in the management of registers/working closely with the register which is the data source for the statistics The work is varied and can shift over time depending on current assignments, as the unit is an active part of both the department's and the agency's joint activities. The work will involve collaboration with different competencies within the unit as well as contacts with other parts of the organization, stakeholders, and other statistics-responsible agencies. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have: • A bachelor's degree with education in statistics or other relevant education that the Swedish Chemicals Agency considers equivalent • Several years of current work experience in statistical production • Good oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English It is advantageous if you have: • Experience from working with Sweden's official statistics is particularly advantageous • Experience planning or leading the implementation of a production process for official statistics • Experience working with register data or with large datasets • Programming skills in SQL or experience with other established statistical software • Experience developing new working methods • Experience in a coordinating or project management role • Experience in statistical production, knowledge dissemination, and visualization of statistics • Experience working with statistics in the natural sciences field, for example chemistry, agriculture, environmental science, or pesticides Characteristics: We are looking for you who drive work forward in collaboration with others and can handle multiple tasks in parallel.
