Investigator Specializing in Honor-Related Violence & Oppression
The goal of gender equality work in Sweden is for women and men to have equal power and opportunities to shape society and their own lives. This work encompasses issues related to influence, economics, health, education, employment, and bodily integrity.
The Gender Equality Agency shall ensure that the government's gender equality policy is effectively implemented by contributing to the implementation of gender equality policy. The agency's task is to coordinate, follow up, and provide various forms of support within gender equality areas. We are an LGBTQI-strategic agency, which means that the agency shall promote equal rights and opportunities for LGBTQI people in its operations.
We are now recruiting an investigator specializing in honor-related violence and oppression.
Duties
As an investigator, you will work broadly with issues related to honor-related violence and oppression, in line with the agency's instructions, appropriation letter, and current government assignments. You will contribute knowledge both internally and externally, through reports, methodological support, and in dialogue with other stakeholders.
As we have taken over the national responsibility for work against honor-related violence and oppression, you will be part of a build-up and development phase where structures, working methods, and collaborations are still being shaped. This requires you to be flexible, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in an environment where not all conditions are finalized from the start.
Key duties:
Conduct in-depth analyses of honor-related violence and oppression and related areas such as men's violence against women, intimate partner violence, violence against children and young people.
Contribute to the design and implementation of the agency's initiatives, for example by developing knowledge bases, methodological support, and other types of support materials.
Develop, disseminate, and evaluate support materials for professionals.
Represent the agency in collaboration forums and networks with other agencies, municipalities, regions, and civil society organizations.
Engage in dialogue with external stakeholders and contribute to collaboration at national and regional levels.
Plan and lead meetings, workshops, and larger gatherings, such as network meetings, agency dialogues, or conferences.
Actively participate in the planning, implementation, and follow-up of projects and assignments.
Compile and write reports, analyses, consultation responses, government assignments, and other knowledge products.
Monitor research, reports, and statistics in the external environment and translate knowledge into the agency's work.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
An academic degree in a social science field or education that the employer considers relevant for the position.
Multiple years of documented experience working with honor-related violence and oppression or related areas such as men's violence against women, intimate partner violence, or violence against children and young people.
Experience in qualified analysis and investigation work, for example developing reports, methodological support, or materials for government assignments.
Experience independently leading project-oriented work and managing complex processes toward set goals within given timeframes at a strategic level.
Experience collaborating and engaging in dialogue with external stakeholders such as agencies, municipalities, regions, and civil society organizations.
Experience writing texts for different target groups, for example reports, consultation responses, or support materials.
Solid knowledge of the areas of men's violence against women and intimate partner violence.
Good ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
Solid knowledge of Swedish gender equality policy.
We consider it a merit if you have:
Experience working at a state agency within the justice system or another agency with assignments related to violence, oppression, or protection of vulnerable groups.
Experience working with authority functions in cases related to men's violence against women, intimate partner violence, or honor-related violence and oppression, for example within the police, social services, special living arrangements services, healthcare, or schools.
Experience working strategically on developing methods, governance documents, or policies within the areas of honor-related violence and oppression, men's violence against women, or violence against children and young people.
Experience working in honor-related violence and oppression from civil society, academia, or other activities.
Experience in violence prevention work at the universal level.
Experience representing an organization in national contexts.
Language skills in languages other than Swedish and English.
Merits mean that it is an advantage if you meet the following requirements, but they are not mandatory to be considered for the position.

Employment Information
This is a permanent full-time position with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. The position is located at our office in central Gothenburg. Travel may be required in connection with the duties.
